Precast Concrete Labourer

Bruno Altin & Co has been operating for 64 years and due to the boom in infrastructure and demand for precast products within Australia, we are expanding! This position is for full-time employment, 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday with the possibility of overtime to complete daily duties. The position initially will be for a labouring role within the company with the end goal to become section leader. 

Due to the nature of this work and with regular deadlines to meet, it can be a fast paced environment with the entirety of the work being hands on.

Duties Include, but are not limited to:

Assist with current section leaders within the factory with their duties, operating overhead cranes, forklifts and necessary equipment, assembling and disassembling moulds and operating batching plant machinery. The successful applicant overtime will be working towards section leader duties which include those previously mentioned as well as designating tasks to fellow employees, consulting with management and office staff regarding manufacturing orders, communicate with the reinforcement division on a day-to-day basis about production orders, work efficiently, effectively and treat all employees with respect.  

This position requires the following:

The applicant must be fit for physical work, enthusiastic, able to demonstrate a high level of work-ethic/initiative, be able to work well as a team and unsupervised, previous maintenance/labouring/trade experience as well as a current forklift licence would be an advantage, experience operating tools and machinery, hold a current drivers licence.

Apprentice Welder

We are currently seeking applications from individuals with a positive attitude, a desire to learn and a willingness to work in a team environment within our steel section. The Apprentice will work with stainless steel, deformed bar, reinforcement mesh and sheet metal. Our Apprenticeships run over a 4 year period, combining formal TAFE study, workshop and field work to enable you to gain an industry recognised trade qualification.

To be considered for this role you must have:

· Completed year 10

· Commitment to a 4 year apprenticeship and ongoing TAFE study.

· Ability to follow processes and procedures and adapt to a changing environment.

· Ability to work alone and in a team environment.

· Ability to effectively communicate both written & verbal.

· Current driver’s license is an advantage; otherwise the applicant must arrange their own travel arrangements.

· Be prompt and punctual.

Wage will be above the award wages, allowances & employment conditions. All applicants must be willing to undergo a formal interview process.

Reinforcement Welder/Fabricator

Bruno Altin & Co are looking to employ a Reinforcement Welder/Fabricator for immediate start. This position is full time employment of a minimum of 38 hours a week. The applicant must be physically fit, hard working and reliable. Experience of a is a necessity. 

Duties may include:
  • Weld components in flat, vertical, or overhead positions.
  • Operate welding equipment.
  • Operate safety equipment and use safe work habits.
  • Lay out, position, align, and secure parts and assemblies prior to assembly, using straightedges, combination squares, callipers, and rulers.
  • Examine workpieces for defects and measure workpieces with straightedges or templates to ensure conformance with specifications.
  • Recognize, set up, and operate hand and power tools common to the welding trade, such as shielded metal arc and gas metal arc welding equipment.
  • Hammer out bulges or bends in metal workpieces.
  • Cutting Reinforcement Bar & Mesh Fabrics as well as use the Hydraulic Bender.
  • Cut and Bend smaller mesh with bolt cutters.
Hours: Monday to Friday 8am - 5pm with overtime where necessary.
